Langham Hospitality Group (LHG) has named Nils-Arne Schroeder as Chief Operating Officer, effective 22 June 2026, as it expands its pipeline of hotels and residences to a wider range of destinations.
Schroeder will lead operations for LHG’s global portfolio of over 30 hotels and residences and support the successful opening and integration of more than 20 properties in development. They include the Group’s first hotel in Thailand and new openings in China this year, followed by brand-defining properties in Italy and Malaysia in 2027, and Saudi Arabia in 2028.
“As we expand to more destinations, Nils’ breadth of experience across regions, cultures and hotel segments will be a major asset,” LHG Chief Executive Officer Bob van den Oord said. “He has a proven ability to respond to market needs without diluting brand identity, and to turn that balance into sustained performance.”

Most recently, he served as Senior Vice President, Operations – Europe and Africa for Raffles and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, based in Dubai. Prior to that, he was Senior Vice President, Operations – Asia, Middle East and Africa for Fairmont Hotels & Resorts.
Earlier in his career, Schroeder spent more than two decades with Hilton, holding hotel, regional and brand leadership roles across Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific. His latest role with the company, based in Singapore, was Vice President – Luxury and Lifestyle, Asia Pacific; which he held while concurrently serving as Global Brand Head for Conrad Hotels & Resorts.
His broader experience spans commercial performance, brand positioning, business development and hotel openings, giving him a well-rounded perspective on how to support expansion across different regions, brands and operating environments.

Schroeder is based at the Group’s headquarters in Hong Kong and reports directly to van den Oord. In addition to leading operations for more than 50 existing and pipeline properties, his remit also includes Group Operations and Quality & Sustainability which collectively supports operational excellence, enhances guest experience and furthers the expansion of the company’s global portfolio.
