Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti continues to redefine luxury safari living with the introduction of its Under The Stars Bush Cinema and the return of the much‑loved Sundowner BBQ, offering guests new ways to gather, dine and connect beneath the African sky.

Set within one of the world’s most iconic wildlife destinations, the Lodge is celebrated for transforming classic safari traditions into contemporary, meaningful moments. These latest additions deepen that vision, bringing together storytelling, culinary artistry, and the beauty of the Serengeti in new and memorable ways.

A Cinematic Journey: Under The Stars Bush Cinema

At the heart of the new experiences is the Under The Stars Bush Cinema, an open‑air screening set beneath a canopy of stars. As dusk settles, guests are welcomed into a softly lit outdoor setting where the atmosphere unfolds effortlessly – combining cinematic storytelling with the sensory elements of an evening in the Serengeti.

A carefully considered selection of beverages, freshly prepared bites, and nostalgic cinema favourites such as popcorn and sweet treats are woven into the experience, creating a relaxed, sociable occasion that feels both elevated and approachable. Rather than a standalone moment, the Bush Cinema forms part of a broader evening journey, where guests can move seamlessly between experiences and shape their night as they wish.

Whether paired with a lantern‑lit Bush Dinner, an intimate poolside dinner overlooking the watering hole, or a refined tasting experience at Vineyard, the Lodge’s signature wine‑pairing venue, the Bush Cinema enhances the rhythm of the evening – adding a shared moment of storytelling to the wider Serengeti experience. Guests may also choose to continue their evening at the Boma Grill, where traditional Tanzanian cuisine is served alongside vibrant Maasai performances around the fire, offering a cultural and immersive close to the day.

“This experience was designed to create a moment of connection between guests, generations, and the Serengeti itself,” says Mary Bowens, General Manager. “The Under The Stars Bush Cinema reflects our commitment to continually evolving the safari experience in ways that feel meaningful, imaginative, and unforgettable.”

The Return of Sundown BBQ Evenings

Returning this season, the Sundowner BBQ reintroduces a vibrant, relaxed dining experience that brings guests together at sunset. Set outdoors against sweeping Serengeti views, the concept centres on live cooking stations, music, and a rotating series of globally inspired themes – from Asian flavours to classic grill nights and Italian favourites – ensuring each evening offers something different.

Designed to be both lively and informal, the experience invites guests to explore a variety of cuisines over the course of their stay, adding depth and variety to the Lodge’s culinary offering while encouraging a more social, interactive style of dining.

“For guests staying a few nights, variety becomes essential to the experience,” says Moustafa Rezk, Executive Chef. “We create different concepts and flavours that allow them to explore, whether it’s something grilled over fire, internationally inspired, or rooted in local cuisine. It’s about giving each evening its own identity while still feeling connected to the Serengeti.”

He adds, “Here, dining is not just about the food itself, it’s about the timing, the setting, and how guests feel in that moment. A relaxed evening outdoors, with something freshly prepared and shared, can become just as memorable as any safari.”

A New Rhythm to Safari Evenings

Together, the Bush Cinema and Sundowner BBQ further enrich the Lodge’s collection of evening experiences, complementing its established dining offerings and giving guests more ways to connect – with each other and with the destination.

From cinematic moments under the stars to convieti continues to shape evenings that feel effortless, immersive, and distinctly of the Serengeti
