    Cisco appoints Ossama Eldeeb as MD for Africa

    Cisco appoints Ossama Eldeeb as MD for Africa

    Networking and security company Cisco has appointed Ossama Eldeeb as managing director for Africa, effective immediately.

    The company said that Eldeeb will lead Cisco’s commercial operations and investment strategy across Africa, working in close collaboration with the company’s local partner ecosystem to scale Cisco’s presence and accelerate inclusive digital growth.

    As Africa moves toward anAI-powered future, Cisco said the appointment reflects its continued commitment to the continent.

    Cisco said Eldeeb brings more than 26 years of international experience driving growth and scaling multi-country businesses across the Middle East and Africa.

    He previously served as the regional director for partner organization for Cisco’s Middle East, Africa, Türkiye, Romania and Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region.

    In that role, he strengthened routes to market, expanded managed services, and led the region through Cisco 360 Partner Program transformation

    “Ossama’s proven track record in scaling businesses and building strong partner ecosystems across the region makes him the ideal leader to drive our ambitions in Africa,” said Shane Heraty, VP of Cisco Middle East, Africa, Türkiye and CIS.

    Heraty is the former MD of Cisco Africa andtook over as VPof Cisco Middle East, Africa, Türkiye and CIS in May 2026, succeeding David Meads who retired after 30 years at Cisco.

    “Africa is a strategic priority for Cisco. Under Ossama’s leadership, we are confident we can deepen our impact, empowering governments, businesses, and communities with secure,AI-ready digital infrastructureand the skills to harness it,” Heraty added.

    “Africa represents one of the most exciting growth opportunities in our industry,” said Eldeeb.

    Prior to Cisco, Eldeeb held senior leadership roles across partner, commercial and sales at VMware, AMD and Microsoft, where he delivered billions in partner-led business, grew emerging markets and led government-assisted technology programs.

    Eldeeb holds a master’s degree in mass communications, with a minor in computer science, from the American University in Cairo.
