President Cyril Ramaphosa said South Africa can’t deal with mass migration alone, adding that other countries must unite to deal with the causes behind the phenomenon.
He said vigilantism against foreigners won’t be tolerated and human rights and immigration laws must be respected.

Ramaphosa was addressing the opening of the first ordinary session of the Seventh Pan-African Parliament in Johannesburg on Monday.
The president has called on other African countries to come together and look into the push and pull factors causing the migration issue.
He said migration has been part of the continent’s history for decades and will continue.
But Ramaphosa told the Pan-African Parliament delegates that other countries need to do more.
The first citizen said if left unmanaged, migration has the potential to undermine the sovereignty and national security of South Africa.
