Procter & Gamble has named President and Chief Executive Officer Shailesh Jejurikar as Chairman of the Board, completing a planned leadership transition at the world’s largest consumer goods company.
The appointment takes effect on August 1, 2026, with Jejurikar assuming the chairman’s role in addition to his current responsibilities as President and CEO. The move follows the retirement of Executive Chairman Jon Moeller, who will step down from the Board on July 31 and retire from the company on August 14, bringing to a close a 38-year career at P&G.
“I want to thank Jon for his many years of tireless and steady leadership at P&G,” Jejurikar said in a statement. “Jon’s strategic vision has been instrumental in shaping the company P&G is today, and we have benefited from his unwavering courage and his profound care for this institution and its people.”
The appointment marks another milestone for Jejurikar, one of the most senior Indian-origin executives in the global consumer goods industry. He took over as President and CEO earlier this year and now assumes the additional responsibility of leading the company’s Board.
Jejurikar joined Procter & Gamble in 1989 and has been part of the company’s global leadership team since 2014. Over nearly four decades, he has held senior leadership positions across multiple business categories, geographies and functions, helping build some of P&G’s largest businesses in Fabric Care and Home Care across North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
Beyond leading businesses, Jejurikar has also played a key role in shaping the company’s enterprise-wide strategy, overseeing initiatives spanning supply chain, information technology and global business services.

His elevation comes as P&G continues to navigate shifting consumer demand, inflationary pressures and intensifying competition across global FMCG markets. The leadership transition signals continuity, with the company entrusting a long-serving insider to steer its next phase of growth.
Procter & Gamble, which operates in around 70 countries, owns some of the world’s best-known consumer brands, including Tide, Ariel, Pampers, Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, Olay, Oral-B, Vicks and Whisper.
