The country offers a diverse and appealing luxury lifestyle for high-net-worth individuals Founder of South Africa | Forbes Global Properties

Keegan Steyn officially launched Forbes Global Properties last week, expanding on the high potential for return on investment in South Africa’s luxury market.

“[The country] offers one of the most diverse and compelling lifestyle propositions for high-net-worth individuals,” Steyn says in an interview with FORBES AFRICA.

“Within less than an hour, you can go from the Atlantic Seaboard to a world-class wine estate, and within a few hours’ flight, you can be at a luxury safari destination. That diversity is one of our greatest strengths.”

ForbesGlobal Properties is an international network of invitation-only real estate brokerages. The launch in South Africa marks the network’s debut on the African continent.

According to Steyn, the platform will exclusively represent the brand across South Africa, specializing in the marketing and sale of the country’s most exceptional homes with a national footprint spanning leading luxury residential markets.

“Compared with many of the world’s established luxury markets, South Africa remains relatively affordable, presenting significant room for growth,” he says.

“We’re also seeing a shift in global investment behavior. High-net-worth individuals are no longer investing solely in traditional global markets; they’re increasingly looking for destinations that offer an exceptional lifestyle. People want to get away from the noise of the world and invest in places where they can create meaningful experiences with their families and loved ones. South Africa offers exactly that.”

Focusing exclusively on the finest residential offerings throughout the country–including celebrated architectural masterpieces, iconic estates, private coastal residences, and rare lifestyle retreats–Steyn says that this is not just another platform selling houses, but is resolute on storytelling. And this is where Forbes comes in.

“A lot of these exceptional homes need storytelling in order to do them justice,” Steyn explains.

“We’ve got access to professional editors who assist us. That’s a different approach, and being associated with the media company gives us a competitive advantage.”

In a statement, Michael Jalbert, CEO of Forbes Global Properties, says: “It is a pleasure to welcome South Africa | Forbes Global Properties to our worldwide network.”

“South Africa offers extraordinary lifestyle, architectural, and investment opportunities, and Keegan’s experience representing some of the country’s most notable transactions makes him uniquely positioned to lead our presence in this important market.”

Steyn emphasizes that the firm views itself as a trusted advisor rather than a real estate agent. “We want to create an experience for our clients that matches the homes they are buying.”
