The duo paid glowing tributes to renowned Ifa priest and cultural icon, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon, on the occasion of his 79th birthday celebration at his residence in Osogbo capital of Osun State.

At the programme, they described the renowned Ifa priest and Yoruba cultural enthusiast, as an asset to Yoruba race and the entire African continent.

In his remark, Oyebamiji said, the celebrant is a repository of knowledge about African tradition and culture, hence, deserves to be celebrated.

“Araba Elebuibon is a blessing to mankind. For us in Africa and assets and specifically for Nigeria, someone that should be celebrated every year.

“The best way to celebrate him is to revive our tourism potential, the likes of Osun-Osogbo grove, Ayekunnugba waterfall, Erin-Ijesa waterfall, the Ifa Temple, Oranmiyan staff among so many others in the state”, he said.

Similarly, Adeleke who was represented by the Commissioner for Political Affairs and Intergovernmental Relations, Dr. Biyi Odunlade said, Elebuibon is an ICON of Yoruba culture and tradition who is revered globally for his depth of Yoruba tradition.

“As a government Araba, he is an asset for us in Osun State and we always celebrate his commitment to the development of Yoruba tradition across the globe.

“We are committed to ensuring that Osun becomes a reference point in projecting African culture globally in his honour”, he added.

Earlier in his remark, Elebuibon disclosed that his commitment to Yoruba religion, tradition and culture project him to global relevance, calling on the government to not just preserve Nigerian cultural heritage but project it to the outside world.

“It is time for government and every stakeholders understand that the only way to bring global attention to the country is to project our culture and tradition to the outside world that is what will attract tourists here we just need to ensure appropriate packaging and branding to sell what we have rather than buy what is not strange to us”, he said.
