The Road to SomaBay Kenya Series continued its successful nationwide journey with another thrilling qualifying event at Eldoret Club, where golfers from across the North Rift region competed for coveted places in the prestigious Road to SomaBay grand finale.
The tournament showcased the very best of Kenya’s amateur golf, with players displaying exceptional skill, determination and sportsmanship in a highly competitive Stableford competition.
The Eldoret qualifier was supported by CIB Bank, the tournament’ financial Partner.
The partnership reflects a shared commitment to growing golf across Africa while strengthening the sporting, tourism and business links between Kenya and Egypt home to the internationally acclaimed SomaBay Golf Resort and the CIB .
Playing on an immaculately prepared Eldoret Club course under favourable weather conditions, competitors were rewarded for precision, consistency and smart course management, producing impressive scores throughout the day.
Nathan Tororei emerged as the Overall Winner after returning an impressive 40 Stableford points off handicap 12, earning his place in the Road to SomaBay Grand Finale.
Syliandicap 15, finishing Overall Runner-Up after countback separated the two outstanding performances
Division A honours went to Faith Chemutai (39 points) ahead of Mercy Karoney (39 points), while Hellen Yego claimed Division B with 39 points ahead of Cyrus Kataron on 38 points.
The four qualifiers now join winners from previous regional events as they continue their journey towards the Road to SomaBay grand finale.
Tournament Director Collins Were is happy with the progress so far, noting it is a good platform for talent development.

With another successful qualifier concluded, the Road to SomaBay Kenya ‘Series now heads to its next event at Royal Nairobi Golf club as golfers continue their pursuit of a place in the grand finale.
The main goal is an opportunity to represent Kenya at the prestigious SomaBay Golf World Cup.
